两次临死体验

一连两篇，说的都是不很愉快的事，由于那是离开之后的最早社会经验，印象特别深刻之故。
死亡，是人人必然会有的结果，由于死亡之后情形怎样，临死之前的感觉如何，都不能有言传或文字传之故，所以，每一个人对死亡，都有神祕和恐惧之感。
这是无可避免的事，除非真是勘破生死，了然无惧，那只有非常人才行，寻常人是做不到的。

生平，有三次濒临死亡的经验，生死真正只在一线间，临死之前的感觉，其中两次都一样，但值得记述一下。

两次面临生死大关，都是水厄，也就是说，有两次是差一点在水里淹死的。

第一次，时间还记得极清楚，是一九五一年三月八日。
那一年三月七日，从上海到苏州，住进了位于关门外北兵营的「华东人民革命大学第四院」的，当天下午，就搭马车，在市内痛快地游了一阵，在玄妙观饱食各种咸甜点心，初次离开生活了十六七年的上海，只觉无处不新鲜有趣。

第二天，本来应该参加什么少红讨论的，但生性自由散漫，偷偷溜了出来，跳上了一辆马车，直赴虎丘，去游名胜古迹。

三月八日，江南的天气还相当冷，身上「装备」甚多，外套是一件童子军的制服大衣，穿的是长统胶靴，因为天正在下雨。

在到虎丘之前，先到西园看罗汉，沿途走小路时，踼到了一个骷髅（江南乡下，葬地凌乱，每有走小路见尸骨的情形），到了虎丘，在生公说法石上坐了片刻，便从那刻有「虎丘剑池」四个大字的月洞门中，走了进去，只见窄狭的潭水，黑黝黝地，并不是十分起眼，抬头望，是西施吊桥。

在洞门口徘徊了一会，看到右边近断崖处，潭水甚浅，穿的又是长筒胶靴，足可涉水而进，寻幽探秘一番，于是，小心翼翼，右手扶山壁，踏着在水中的岩石，向内走了进去，走进二十来步，已到尽头，停了片刻，转身，再走回来。

谁知进去时，右手扶山壁，比较能着力，出来时，变成左手扶山壁，全然无可着力之处，心中已经发慌，而浸在水中的石头上面十分滑，一脚踏不住，整个人，就在完全来不及想一想发生了什么事之际，一下子就滑进了剑池的水中。

当时，全然不懂游泳，衣服又多，再加上长靴，在变故之后，另一个感觉，是身子一直向下沉，当然，口鼻之中，都有水灌了进去，怪的是，忽然睁大了眼，看出去，是一片碧绿无边无际的碧绿。
当其时也，更怪的是，神智极其清醒，心地也十分平静：原来我要死在苏州，原来我要死在苏州！除了这一点，什么也不想，真是平静之极，比起现在梦回，思潮起伏时，不知平静了多少。

那时，身体在做什么动作，也完全不知道，突然之间，手像是抓到了什么，接着，就被人拉了上来。
那位救命恩人的名字是孙丕烈，据他说，在月洞门口听到了一下呼叫声，才看到我堕水的，但自己真是记不起曾在堕水前发出过呼叫声的了。

这时，自然有不少人围了上来，几个苏州老人都说剑池水深两丈，常淹死人，没听说过落了水又被救上来的，真正命不该绝云云。
全身湿淋淋回宿舍，尚未正式开学，已被公开点名批评了。

那位孙丕烈先生，时有往还，忽然一次往访不遇，原来已因「召妓」罪被判徒刑，自此下落不明了。

在死亡的边缘，心境竟然极度平静，毫无恐惧感，而当时又是确知自己会死的，这只是个人的经历，未知其他濒临死亡经历的人，是不是也一样，倒真希望有机会切磋交流一番。
 

第二次差点被淹死，是在内蒙古呼伦贝尔盟扎特旗了，有一条河叫绰儿河。
那时，已学会了游泳，颇得自然之奇趣。

那天在接连几天大雨之后，又去游泳，谁知河面增阔，河水暴涨，但是却不知道河水变得这么湍急，在河滩下水，水才及腰，已站立不稳，心知不妙，已经被水冲走，湍急的河水中还有大小漩涡，一路翻翻滚滚，被冲向前，眼看一座相当大的木桥，迎面而来，非撞在桥柱上不可，双眼一闭，心中想的是，毕竟还是死在水里！心境还是一样平静无惧。

可是，到了桥柱之前，忽然并不撞上去，在旁掠过，就着百分之一秒的机会，抱住了桥柱，捡回了一条命，已被冲出三公里有余了。
这次经历，总算明白了什么叫作「船到桥头自会直」，大抵是由于水流的关系，或许是由于命不该绝。
 

两次面临死亡，都十分平静，想想，好好活着，心境又何必激动紧张？

不过，想想容易，做起来却千难万难了。

Be faced with life and death twice to close greatly, it is water be stranded, that is to say, all but drowns have twice in water.
For the first time, time still is written down extremely clearly, was on March 8, 1951.
