村里有个人，大家都叫他恶棍，其实他也没偷没抢，只是逗了一下村长家的闺女。

恶棍家祖上积德，留下了几百亩地，他全都租给别人种，经常到地里去看，耕种的人会发现，离远了看恶棍的嘴上是笑容，可离近了又像是哭。

村里死了人，没有一个壮小伙子想去抬尸，因为这后毕竟跟死人有关，但恶棍不管，抬完以后，家属给了他几个钱，恶棍用这些钱买了一条听话的大黄狗，村里的人都说，他也许是太寂寞了。

过了几个月，村里的村长换人了，是个大学生，刚来村的第一件事就是把土葬改为火葬，这可急坏了恶棍，傍晚找到村长，村长当然知道他要干嘛，便给他讲了一大堆道理，给恶棍听得一愣一愣的，没办法只好回家。
有一天恶棍买了几颗糖，想给村长的闺女吃，村里的人一看，都以为恶棍要打村长闺女的注意，告诉了村长，村长找了好些人打了恶棍一顿，村长的闺女这时出面辩解，村长公正无私的大手一挥：算啦，便理直气壮地走了。

这天晚上，恶棍忘了锁狗链子，狗跑到村长家，咬了村长，村长找人将恶棍带到这里，对他说“你这只狗行凶，不可活啊！”一棍子着狗的鼻子上，狗一声没吭就倒下了，恶棍将狗的带回了家，几天都一直看着狗，又是笑又是哭。
过了几天，恶棍把自己的棉袄卖了，换来几瓶好酒，在家吃着什么，村民以为是狗的尸体，就没让小孩子去看，可是后来，村民们发现了又一种可能，这种可能村名们毛骨悚然，因为在恶棍在家吃东西的时间里，村长一面也没露，等恶棍吃完了，喷着酒气走向坟地的时候，大家全都挤到恶棍的房间里，一股腥臭恶心的味道扑鼻而来，大家发现狗的尸体还在床上，已经腐烂了。
恶棍和村长一起消失在了这世界上。
